Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
How does your firm get paid?
We are only paid for our advice and services. Unlike most firms, we don't receive sales commissions and kick-backs from the investments we recommend. As a fee-only fiduciary, our only compensation comes from the fees our clients pay us in exchange for our advice and services. This frees us up to put your best interests first and make recommendations based on what makes the most sense for your personal situation.
Who is your typical client?
Most of our clients fall into one (or more) of the following categories:
- Our clients are highly trained professionals such as a physician, dentist, attorney, or CPA. (We even have other financial advisors as clients!)
- Our clients are in hot pursuit of financial independence and are often ten years or less from retirement (or have recently retired).
- Our clients are business owners. They typically own their practice or are a partner in their business.
- Our clients have accumulated $800,000 or more in investable assets.
Do you have a minimum?
The fee for our Wealth Management services (investment management + comprehensive financial planning) is calculated as a percentage of the total assets that we manage. This fee is subject to a $2,500 per quarter ($10,000 per year) minimum. Because of this minimum, our services tend to make the most sense for clients who have already accumulated $800,000 or more in investable assets.
